	SPACE IS THE
CENTRE STAGE
OF LIFE.

From the labor room of birth to the inevitable location of death, each instant of everyday life takes place in a space. Things and beings coexist through space. As both a mental and sensory experience that is vital for existence, we keep asking the same question: how can we make it future-proof?

		<description>
WE ARE A SPATIAL INNOVATION NETWORK DEDICATED TO ANTICIPATE THE EVER-CHANGING NEEDS OF PEOPLE AND PLANET.

	Drivers
E N G A G E M E N TWe believe it is essential to listen, immerse, envision, and co-create future spaces with the ones that are directly affected and will be inhabiting and using them. We engage all relevant stakeholders in our projects – from the individual citizen to the larger community, and from the public to the private sector.

T E C H N O L O G YWe believe technology should serve both people and planet, to improve the way we inhabit and interact with our spaces, and for the greater good. Whether analog or digital, high or low – it’s a useful and impactful tool to source data, measure impact, accelerate processes, and constantly improve our solutions.

S U S T A I N A B I L I T YA positive balance is essential in spaces to create value today and across future generations, and to improve the lives of everyone they touch. Our spatial innovation process is committed to deliver “net positive” solutions – giving more than they take, and taking ownership of all the social, environmental and economic impacts.

	Areas of InterventionH O U S I N G
From individual to collective: affordable, unique, communal, tiny, organic, touristic, public, and other spaces to inhabit.

W O R K I N GFrom remoteness to presence: homes, offices, factories, workshops, ateliers, farms, and other spaces of creation.

L E A R N I N GFrom knowledge to wisdom: kindergartens, schools, universities, campuses, libraries, museums, and other cultural spaces.

P L A Y I N GFrom distraction to awareness: playgrounds, gardens, sport facilities, parks, and other leisure and recreation spaces.

A G E I N GFrom conception to the elderly: homes for life, multigenerational and day-care centres, and other adaptive spaces for longevity and lifelong usability.

C A R I N G
From cell to soul: hospitals, hotels, health, rehabilitation and wellness centres, spas, prisons, and other spaces of regeneration.

E X C H A N G I N GFrom good to service: stores, restaurants, warehouses, bazaars, marketplaces, and other spaces for transaction.

M O V I N GFrom underground to the sky: pipelines, cables, streams, railways, sidewalks, roads, trails, and other mobility spaces and services.

E N G A G I N GFrom immersion to emergency: experiential, contemplative, ceremonial, sacred, public spaces, and other places for social and political commitment.

FrameworkOur methodology and modus operandi have foresight and regeneration at its core, spanning from research to concept, pilot testing and monitoring, according to the needs and opportunities of each space, place or territory.F O R E S I G H TThrough a participatory methodology, powered by ALVA, we detect relevant drivers of change and uncertainties, and build scenarios that anticipate the future uses of spaces and their challenges. This long-term view enriches the understanding of the strategic implications, risks and opportunities that will boost the regenerative development of these spaces.
R E G E N E R A T I O NInspired by the living systems approach, we study the interdependency of questions at stake with all parties involved. We highlight how different elements relate and affect each other on different levels. To guarantee long-term prosperity and positive impacts, we focus on nature and its principles, enabling the people, the place, and the planet to thrive.

In the framework diagram, nodes are represented by lichens. Lichens are associations of beings from distinct biological kingdoms – fungi and algae – that cannot live without each other, coming together and transforming each other in collaboration. Two beings becoming one that regenerates itself infinitely. We may have something to learn from them. Images ©&#38;nbsp;Sofia Arez

	Regenerating Hospitality

A human and life-centred project that demonstrates how we can have positive impact on people and the planet through a regenerative approach.

Quinta dø Zero is a hospitality pilot-project proposed by a conscious property developer and a bio-based construction technology start-up, that aims to achieve the goals of zero fossil fuels, zero pollution, zero waste, zero impact on the ecosystem and biodiversity, as well as zero social and economic inequality.Zero –– symbolizing circularity, emptiness, nothingness –– stands for the point of departure towards an individual and collective journey, that invites people who are open to experience and participate in change, and to tackle the global environmental crisis.

	Rethinking Parks

The City Council of Cascais intends to develop the concept and program of a new green space with 43 hectares in the heart of the municipality in co-creation with the surrounding communities and other interested parties.

&#60;img width="1920" height="1080" width_o="1920" height_o="1080" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/c2a07b3f0a1439f040386b30d31afeee1644ce710944f1f9f39d1b584d37a420/Spinn_Cascais1.jpg" data-mid="144169892" border="0"  src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/c2a07b3f0a1439f040386b30d31afeee1644ce710944f1f9f39d1b584d37a420/Spinn_Cascais1.jpg" /&#62;

To ensure that the concept and program of the new green space is inclusive, systemic and sustainable from its genesis to its implementation, tailor-made foresight and regeneration tools were integrated in the design of the innovation process, and the various stakeholders – community, living forces, associations, investors, owners, and public administration – were strategically involved.

MENNO CRAMER
Curator of Technology

Menno is passionate about people and design, more specifically how we, as humans, interact with designed objects and services. All his roles are at the intersection of behaviour and design.
In his PhD in Neuroscience &#38;amp; Design, he started to explore the link between designing spaces and how we perceive and are impacted by them: from physical spaces like cities, transport structures and architecture, to digital spaces like websites, apps and products.

As UX designer and design consultant for start-ups and enterprises, Menno scopes a wide range of activities and topics. His career is about how we can manage the creation of spaces, products, and services, whilst accurately predicting the experience they inherently generate.

LUÍS ROCHARTRE
Curator of Sustainability

Luís sees himself as a producer who, in the face of a challenge and a set of resources, loves to reach a result – whether it's a business project, a new fish recipe or whatever comes his way. He considers that incremental gains are not enough to overcome the challenges we face, and is currently focused on converting regeneration and net positive goals into action.

He has specialized in working on, and studying, the sustainability agenda goals, and believes that best science, systems thinking, stakeholder engagement and purpose are the four cornerstones of a winning strategy.

Luís is a seasoned professional experienced in several sectors and responsibilities. His experience grew around three main themes: people, achievement, and sustainability.
